You introduce a small bicycle chain type combination lock and explain you have forgotten the combination.

The lock could already be locking something or you could borrow something from the audience to lock up, maybe even the spectator themselves!

You demonstrate the lock is locked, it really is and will not open.

​After explaining the lock has 4 barrels numbered 1 to 6 you have freely chosen numbers selected one at a time and each time the lock is pulled to see if it will open.

When the final number is dialled in on the lock it opens.

The numbers are all a free choices and the method is so simple a child could do this within seconds of being told the secret.
